With Barbara Abramson
Are you spending hours a week staring at your screens or searching for faces on Zoom? Such narrow, intense focus can create tension in your eyes, neck, shoulders, and elsewhere in your body. It can also inhibit breathing and even contribute to anxiety. When tension becomes habitual, it becomes hard to sense or something we think we have to live with. We can, however, let go of unnecessary tension by doing gentle, easy movements with guided attention. This brings renewed awareness of what we are feeling, enabling change and allowing us to soothe our eyes and our whole selves.
Barbara Abramson, a teacher of the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education, will lead a lesson in self-discovery and relaxation around the use of your eyes.
