Over the weekend, the conflict escalated and the number of refugees has risen greatly. The Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks established a Ukraine Emergency Relief Fund to provide critical assistance to more than 200,000 Jews in Ukraine. Thank you to those who have already joined this effort. Please support the most vulnerable. Every dollar counts.
The emergency campaign dollars will go to American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) to support on-the-ground humanitarian effort.
The humanitarian work has already started:
- On Saturday, a small group of Ukrainian immigrants consisting of women, children, and elderly men, crossed the border into Poland thanks to The Jewish Agency for Israel. They will depart for Israel shortly. There will be an additional 10,000 getting ready to make Aliyah. Read more HERE
- Vitaliy Novikov, JDC’s Director at Jewish Community Centre Halom in Kyiv, and his colleagues continue helping their vulnerable clients understand what to do in case the worst happens, including how not to panic and how to save your life.
- Volunteers at Hesed Hana Best Graham in Ukraine are packing food, clothes, and medicine for soldiers, volunteers, and other defense forces. They are also gathering supplies for people migrating through Krivyi Rih from the east and other cities under fire.
Our Federation’s strategic partners are on the ground, providing critical humanitarian support for Jews facing the struggle of their lifetime. They are uniquely positioned to mobilize volunteers to reach Jews across every part of Ukraine. Our support is vital to keep the work going and help our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.
